Keith on the mountains of Scotland

looking for new views to take back to his art studio.

This clip was taken on Saturday 3rd January 2009 early afternoon from the upper slopes of Beinn a’ Chrulaiste, an 857m Corbett that rises NE of Buachaille Etive Mor and the A82 at the head of Glencoe.

There was very little snow around just a thick covering of frost (that I described as snow) higher up but everywhere was frozen solid….all the lochs on Rannoch Moor, the streams and waterfalls.

The view starts looking roughly SE over the edge of Rannoch Moor and the Blackmount and slowly moves towards the S and SW, showing Criese, the start of Glen Etive and then the main bulk of Stob Dearg (the NE end of Buachaille Etive Mor), before showing Buachaille Etive Beag and some of the other Glencoe hills. A big view indeed.

The light was very good that day with odd patches of bright sunshine creating great colours on the grass and heather lower down.
